Just a rant really about shops advertising stuff they dont have in stock. Drives me nuts. Second time ive ordered stuff online then have to chase things up when they dont arrive only to be told they were never in stock in the first place, then have to phone numerous times to chase a refund that they said they sent but never did 🤬
Probably should of put this in general chat so pls move if in the wrong category.

Phone first and order over the phone if I can't get stuff locally and always get the name of the person taking the order. Rarely order this way but there are no decent fly tackle shops near me so phoning is the only way to get what I need..

Angling Direct are really bad for this, Bought a MK2 Carporter Navigator, paid next day delivery and waited a week until they told me they had no stock.
I did gain at the end as they upgraded me FOC to a Nash Evo barrow which was £80 more.

I found out that this only means Angling Direct have 2 in stock, that's across all of their stores...
So chances are 2 stores have got 1 each so they'd each send you one.
I found this out as I bought some reels from them, they came in two different parcels from different stores, 2 in one parcel and 1 in another.
The obvious challenge with this would be if the stock level isn't correct for a particular store, having previously worked in retailing know it does take some manual input to ensure stock levels are correct due to theft and or stock discrepancies on deliveries etc. not an excuse for them as they should have systems in place to ensure an accurate stock file.

One shop took my 80 quid. Kept me waiting 4 weeks as item out of stock. I gave up and asked for a refund which took 2 weeks.
