Where would you expect to find the fish this time of year, I have an opportunity to angle at a lake that is booking of swim only and there is a deep end 14-22ft and a shallow 2-6ft with no angling allowed between ends of lake...

Sun's out here, so I'd head for the shallow end. To be honest I will always have a bait in the margins wherever and whenever I fish, partly out of superstitious habit, but mainly because it will get a bite more often than not.

This time of year I would assume the fish will be quite well spread so depends on what the weather is like. If sunny definitely the shallower end but would not be surprised if a few are still held up in the deeper water especially when the sun goes down

I think I'd be inclined to go for the deeper water end but fish the sunny margin in daylight, dropping a bit deeper at night. You will find fish up the shallows but quite often for me they tend to be the smaller fish that have been active for some time. Larger fish I've always found aren't so keen to move as quickly as the water is still cold so a warm bit near deep water wins for me.
