IF you could pick two weeks in the year when you think there would be best chance of catching a few when would it be?
Remember you cannot control when the lake is quiet etc I'm mainly thinking pre spawning after spawning ... late autumn maybe?

Late march to mid April would be the obvious choice I guess as they're awake and hungry after the winter.
My personal preference would be end of summer as autumn comes in when they look to feed themselves up - and those early evenings with the sun going down and the lovely golden leaves mean that even if I blank it's still bloody wonderful

The bulk of my target fish have come end of jan-mid February. Banks are quiet too usually. There's my choice!

Last week of November/first week of December are the most productive on my current lake, it's very deep so fishes better until later and those weeks are always the start of the end of the action until March.

The first half of February is my favorite time of the year, historically is when I caught with the most regularity during the years.
This year I would take even the couple of weeks before, From middle of January to middle of February I had a string of great sessions with stunning big Carps and even in the only one I hadn't nothing it was a session to remember as it was under the snow.
Unfortunately my favorite time of year is just passed and I have to wait a few months until it returns LOL
