Im looking for a larger/giant size bivvy for general camping. Im a big fan of Armo's and pramhood style bivvies and have had my eye on the Trakker Superdome for quite a few years now. A few outlets are selling at sale prices so thinking now is the time to go for it.
Does/has anyone used one? .... I guess my only concern is whether the size being so big and tall compromise the rigidy and strength in bad weather? .... I will be getting the full overwrao aswell so this will help i assume. ..... Any feedback appreciated.

Why not get a proper job for camping I know someone thats a camping nut and they have over the past 20 odd years used all sorts and the one they are using now is awesome I have watched their home videos its called a Vango Airbeam Odyssey Air 500 Villa Tent and inflates so fast and indestructible in a storm

Thanks Gerry. I have also had many style of tents over the 30+ years and already have an airbeam inflatable tent (Kampa currently, but have had Vango in the past) and they are a big step forward when compared to the poled version, but far from indestructable. In strong winds or excessive heat as they can be suseptible to problems (although I have never had problems myself, I have seen what can happen when a beam explodes from expanding in the heat or the wind gives them a proper battering) and they really are a pig to pack up.
I agree though for bigger tents the Airbeams are the best option .... But for a smaller tent for a couple people i dont think you can better the pramhood design imo . Its such a reliable design, as quick to set-up and the material is generally superior (unless the airbeam is a Karsten) and obviously even better when used with overwrap.
Anyways, got some positive feedback on FB so have now pulled the trigger on the Superdome, Overwrap and inner capsule.

have a brand new pram hood its a prologic spyderdome rated 2.5 man pram hood with new overwrap which creates a 1m porch if you are interested.from a french trip that never happened £175 for both,cheers

I have had 2 Vango Airbeams and a still have Kampa caravan awning I was camping in Norfolk and out for the day and a massive storm came when we got back to the site it was like a tornado had gone thru 70% at least of tents and awnings totally destroyed lots of people possessions were in next door fields twisted broken poles ripped canvas BUT my inflatable was perfect just one peg and pulled out
