Recently searching for a specific angling product I could only find it directly from the distribution company but after two weeks of ordering and many calls it failed to arrive. Searching retailers that stock the product only found one and when contacting them by email as they don't have a phone number to order or enquire as to check if in stock I'm waiting for a reply. Looking for online reviews the only one I found appear to be linked to the distributor as this is the only brand they ever review. Would you buy from a company that is online based only and their only communication method is via email ?

I would and have , but only after doing a bit of research . Always double check the website has a registered address (this is a legal requirement) and I personally like a phone number .There are websites still active but the actual business may be long gone hence a little research.

It's research that led to my asking people's views as some companies seem to have no contact except email as said and do not have a contact phone number. This isn't just tackle I've looked at ,found a few clothing companies as well. Guess I'm old fashioned but when I buy something I like to view it and handle it before I part with my money which of course is not possible with on line only unless you know someone that has taken the plunge and bought what you are looking for. Looking for online reviews can help if you find a well respected person in the particular field but there seems to be plenty of reviews from self appointed wannabes.

No, online only and they don't even allow being of products at their premises so not right you ship it back at your expense. Not buying anymore anyway will buy an alternative more expensive product from a retailer with a shop .

It's a fly rod that's just been released and wasn't in any shops but is now being advertised in one but like I say they are online only but are a big seller with a good rep but I think they operate from a warehouse.
