Hi I'm in the market for a new bivvy I have narrowed it down to 2 what are your thoughts on the fox frontier xd or the fox r series xl ????

It is a big one but gose up fast

I have the r series 1 xl and it's a great bivvy once its up. However its a bit like wrestling with an octopus if you're doing it on your own. If the frontier xd is easier to put up and take down then I'd go for that. If time is not important then it would probably be cheaper. I suppose it just depends on your circumstances

I've had both, still have the Frontier, best bivvy I've ever had, the XL was a pain in the arse to put up and take down and never seemed to look right unless it was on flat level ground.

From memory between those two the main diff
Isn't so much size, as both are big enough. But the XD has considerably more height

just be aware of the weight of the x and xd if you have any walks of considerate length to do,they are really heavy

I made that comment in another thread,apparently they are not if you take some of the pegs out and leave a few bits out the bag.I nearly had the x before I bought my current bivvy,the Frontier is very well made and not heard of many returns
