Any recommendations for a decent set of alarms plus reciever that arent top end ie delkim/fox , I'm sure some of the lower price ones these days will work just as well .

If you're on a budget I'd take a look at the Sonik SKS.
A mate I fished with last year used these and I was well impressed with them for less than £90, and they even throw in a bivvy light when you're half asleep and you get a take.

Prologic BAT+ or Prologic SMX, have a set of both (son has BAT, I have SMX) and they are both decent. I've had the SMX for about 4 years now, haven't missed a beat. The BAT ones I only got last year, but there's plenty of good reviews on here.

I have a set and they work as well as my Delkims people that havent used them have no idea just how good these are no need to spend £400 plus

I just bought the bat alarms hoping they are as good as people say, really good value for money
I have the prologic SMX and think they are great for the money. They have a separate drop back alarm, adjustable snag ears and the receiver has a built-in bivvy light, they run on AAA's too. I have had mine 2 years with no issues. The range is also really good, I enjoy laughing at my mate when his Delkims only reach halfway to my peg!

I bought mine after seeing a few lads on here rate them, think for the money they are unbeatable, used mine in all weather, always just done what they're supposed to, so another thumbs up for the bat alarms
