He everyone, I use some old solar bobbins with chains.

I'm looking for an alternative to the chains that's lightweight and allows for a longer drop eg dacron . Does anyone know of anything off the shelf that wi work with the solar bobbin and hockey stick thread finish?

I use old Solar bobbins and have made my own cords from stripped out ESP leadcore.

Thanks, looking for something even lighter ideally, it's for perch fishing so really need the bobbin to be as light as possible on a long drop. I might look at some cheap chains and see if I can replace with something myself

I use Gardner Nanobug bobbins for perch. Well worth a look.

I agree the MPS Hawks would be my first option

Get some 2mm accessory cord from a climbing shop for 35p a metre and make your own
