For years ive used nash scopes and the Sonik xtractor rods. But im gonna sound like a plonker to some of you but the retractable part has always been a bit of an irritation to me lol. Many a time I've picked them up out of my quiver and the retractable bit would slide open , i dunno just always bugged me lol. But the packdown was great. Got the 8ft korum opportunist x rods now in 2.5 tc , pack down to just under the size of the 10 ft scopes so relatively compact and feel a decent and capable rod. Had plenty of money left after selling the retractable rods too so thats a bonus. i only fish where a 40yd chuck is needed although there are some 40s present
I did the same mate I really didn't like them, I got rid and bought some normal 10fts now and much prefer them

Glad not just me lol. They offer nothing positive but the packdown , glad togo back to a 2 piece standard rod

I did the same also .... I originally bought the Sonik X-Tractor and thought they felt pretty nasty to me, and the sliding mechanism instantly irritated me .... I returned them and bought a set of Drennan 8ft Stalkers 2.75lb and they feel much nicer to me

have you used them yet? I just bought okuma Pulzar 4000 baitrunners for them too! Quality little set up can't wait to get out with them

Yes mate cracking little rods. Had a 19lb river pike on one in January. As for the okuna pulzar reels they're fantastic reels

I love mine and cant see me ditching them,
got some Sonik 10ft Insurgents, along with my other short session gear that fit inside the boot of my car so noone knows its there. Very handy when the gears in the car all day when I go after work
Whereas with my other full size rods and longer session gear I have to lay the seats flat so everyone can see it when it parked up.

I agree nice to have a set up in boot retractables are very handy to not be on show but I also see what others are saying about being a faff so I have both types
