Many years ago, as in 15 years or thereabouts, CCMoore used to have a facility on their site whereby you designed your own bait. Essentially you selected your base mix ingredients, liquids flavours etc from their products and they rolled and delivered it. It was excellent value for money.

Just wondering if any other bait manufacturer offers a similar service today?

I used to have a few recipes with Premier baits, which they helped design and would then make on demand, this was 10 years ago and i looked them the other day but it seems they were moving premises and weren't taking orders at the moment but worth a try when they are up and running.

Thanks for the reply, I've looked this morning, they do offer a service of sorts, where you send your recipe and get a quote. They don't have the ingredients on show for you to choose however, which is where CCM used to score.

Tails up have a custom bait section on their website where you can choose to add additives, flavours etc to their existing base mixes. Not exactly what you are looking for i know but about as close as ive found.

Rollin baits will do custom orders, but again I think it may be on their own base mixes (which are very good anyway)

I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to remember Mark Bryant mentioning in a Podcast that they could change their baits slightly to suit, I can't remember 100% though... May be worth a message

There's loads of guys who roll decent amounts at home, not the volumes of a full time bait business, but enough to have decent equipment. I'm sure you could find someone in your area that would roll your recipes.

Failing that if you are just rolling for yourself. You can do it at home for very little outlay. A mixing bowl, cheap gardener table and a chip fryer. British Aqua Feeds will blend all your powders and deliver it to you so all you need to do is add liquids.

Hi mate it's going to take a while to set up but a friend and I are going to be doing exactly that he is the money I'm the roller haha, it will be exactly that you will be able to tailor your basemixe obviously for those who have little knowledge if a recipe just won't roll I will suggest tweaks etc and the same will apply to hookbaits will offer both wafters and pop ups that have a buoyancy equal to cork balls, again all attractor blends etc will all be customisable etc. currently looking for a garage etc to rent to set up in

Good luck with your venture.

Going back to the CCM site in about 2008, there was more or less every conceivable product available to concoct a mix from. Numerous fishmeals, seeds, milk proteins and the staples such as semo, maize and soya products. There were, iirc, 2 full pages of powders, spices and additives that made up the base mix ingredients, probably 40-50 different products in total. Couple that with the option of virtually every flavour, feed oil and liquid additive and it really was an extensive choice.

It was a shame they stopped offering the facility, I suspect marketing their own base mixes was more profitable than allowing us to create our own?

Yes and also stock rotation would play a part. Fine for the more common ingredients but some of the more obscure stuff might have sat around for months. That's a lot of money tied up in stuff that might be out of date before someone added it to a mix and even then they might only buy ten kilos and you never see them again.
Are you sure?
