Looking for a pair of binoculars just looking for some infornation/reviews on these or alternatives. Fortis are available in 8x32 & also 8x42 magnification what is the ideal magnification for a good all-rounder.

I cant comment on this make as never seen a pair but
8x42 it is better a brighter image due to the 42 lense letting in more light as far as magnification is concerned 8 times is a great choice perfect for the ranges we need

8x42 for me, they are the ideal compromise between size, magnification and light gathering.
Have a look at Hawke, I'd recommend these within reasonable a price range (although you can spend way more on high end brands)
