Harrison Torrix 12.6 TE or Aviator 12.6/13ft 3.5lb is a nice distance set up but what is better option for playing fish and which you will choose (reasons) if you can?

Not used them yet but I have a set of Aviator Plus 13ft 3.5's on order, can't wait to use them.
I had the 12ft Aviator Plus which were fantastic rods and if I was only ever fishing to 120 yards max then I would still have them. The lake I am on is 72 acres and there are some swims I need to be giving myself the best chance of hitting 140/150 yards plus. I bought a relatively cheap set of 13ft rods, (Shimano TX2's) to see how I got on and could consistently outcast the 12ft Aviators so I knew the extra length in the blank was working for me and decided to splash out on the 13ft Aviators.
The Aviator blank is better than the Torrix blank IMO, (ask Kev Clayton, he will give you an honest opinion) and personally i would go for the 13ft over the 12.6, rather slightly over-gunned than under....

For the money maybe better off just getting TX2s or the TX9A or ultra the latter are both nicely finished with great casting (and accurate) with good fish playing abilities.

I was thinking about Atrex rods but I gave up because I did not find many reviews on web and no one of my friends don't have it, so during this winter I decided to make custom Harrisons.
I had 12.6ft aviators in my hands (blanks only) and honestly I am not sure are they to stiff for me or they are in the same league with TE

I have two sets of the TE's which I've bought over the years. I love them but in truth these days they only get used maybe once or twice a year as my 10 foots see much more action. I find the TE's beautiful playing rods under the tip and they put a 6 or 7 oz bag for me 70 yards easily. They would probably put a 3oz lead much further than I can comfortably cast, and for an all round rod they are perfect for me. There are cheaper options these days and given that I probably wouldn't spend the same amount on a set of rods today.

Both the TE and the Aviators are superb rods but my honest opinion is that the Aviators are the better rod. I have had 2 sets of Aviators - 12ft and 12ft6 and my preference is for the 12ft6 by far. The 12ft 6 is capable of chucking a lead a long way but the extra length makes it better for playing fish close in and I use mine on 60 acre pits as well as 1 acre ponds and never feel over or under gunned! The 13ft Aviator is a beautiful rod as well but after trying one it just didn't feel right for me.
I still build alot of torrix but mainly in lower t.c 2.25 mostly.The aviator blank are much nicer to use than torrix t.e. in my opinion and the opinion of nearly everyone i have built them for.

I am a TE user of 5 years plus. Before I ordered I borrowed a 12 footer from a rod builder and found it to stiff for my liking. Tried the 12' 6" and that was a totally different rod, far better in my opinion. A couple of weeks ago I spoke to the builder about possibly changing to Aviators. He tried to talk me out of it saying I would gain little if anything for the money. I borrowed a 12 footer to try and again found it to stiff. Borrowed a 12'6" and he was right. Kept my money in my pocket.
My advice is try before you buy if you can.

I have owned both the 13ft and now own the 12.6ft Aviator. Honestly the 13ft aviator I feel is a poor blank the way I would describe it is as lazy it quite slow in recovery and just not crisp at all, I have spoke to a few rod builders on this and they all say similar things, The 12.6ft aviator is a far nicer blank crisper, faster recovery and just feels nicer in your hands to be honest a rod that can be used for all situations 👍

I loved the TE,s great casting and lovely to play fish on. The aviators are quite similar playing action and i could cast slightly further with them but not much. However the aviator i found a bit tip heavy when i first switched but you soon get used to it. The TE is a nicer blank imo.
I now use 13ft hi sives which i prefer, they do it all for me.

Finally I got new blanks 
My new rods are non standard Harrison blanks in 13ft 3.5lb option. Semiparabolic action, blank based on RH Dreammaker Enigma (modified) with better playing action than TE or Aviators
Perfect for distance up to 120-130 meters. Seems like good suggestion from my local tackle trader.

What rods are these and where did you get them please.
I still want some 12'6 rods that cast miles and are great for playing fish.
Not sure what make but I have put it off too long.
Also if I am getting rods made what extras do people ask for, for instance I use braid a lot.
