Get some of those thin French fries..
Fire up the trangia ,get a full bloom,make a cup.of tea in the kettle firstly maybe..
Fully open the simmer ring ,place on burner,get the frypan ,mines a 27 non stick,place fries in fry pan ,cover fry pan with tin foil ,cook slowly ,....give chips a swish ..yum..
Do the same with a pie....don't use any oil ,nothing..using the foil lid turns fry pan into a mini oven bit like a monkey ridge thingy..
Having probs lighting ,cold weather or too much meths dilution,get a dry leaf ,dip leaf into meths ,light leaf ,put leaf into burner, burner now lit..or get a turbo flame lighter

In cold weather, use a preheater to light the trangia and you will be cooking straight away with no waiting for the burner to warm up.
Trangia sells them, but they are very expensive for what they are.
I have 3 alternatives that I use.
Get a small shoe polish tin, or use a gel burner pot or don't use either.
All you have to do is put the tin or gel burner under the burner with a finger nail size piece of wood shaving paper or tissue etc with two or three drops of meths on and light. Or just light the paper etc on the ground if it's safe to do so
Don't use more than two or three drops of meths, otherwise the burner will light like a jet engine on reheat. It just needs to warm the meths and burn out within a minute, not to get the meths boiling.
Another way but slower, just roll up a piece of toilet paper etc, drop into the burner, let the meths wick up it and light.

Aldi's or Morrison's curly fries done same way are also a treat. The important thing though whether you do them under tinfoil or ridgemonkey, you do not want to allow a build-up of steam otherwise it stops them going crispy. Allowing them to thaw out gets rid of a lot of the ice on the outside of them which helps

yes I have always taken and used a pre heat tin when its minus temps I got the idea years ago on a bushtrail site it was 3 nuts in a shoe polish tin lid with a bit of that yellow fiberglass wool used in lofts few drops of meths that I kept in an old eye drops bottle all stored when not in use in a ziplock bag
I do love using a trangia for brews I LOVE the quiet I am never in a hurry fishing ?
I am amazed at some peoples impatience when fishing I just truly cant understand that mindset ? its such a wonderful past time out in the open enjoying your sights and sounds and quietness around you
