How do you work it out and is there anyway to avoid it. Im about to buy an omega watch for the missus for xmas but its coming from america. Just want to work out the worst case scenario if i do have to pay as it could be quite expensive so want to make sure it will still be worthwhile. Cheers.

20% vat
Handling charge by post office from memory is a % as well
Long time since I used to get anything from America but this gives an idea
I used to get people to mark as a gift or samples.

Dont think you can mark as a gift if its a business address. He said he will do his best to avoid any fees as he sends to the uk quite a lot. Still cheaper than the uk even with taxes but only by a couple of hundred and there isnt any another one in the uk at the minute as its an older version and very hard to find.

Could use the sample route then though lol
If it still works out cheaper it's a win
