Afternoon Chaps I am currently with Sky at the moment and my contract is up for renewal but as it stands don't have any goodies to tempt me stay even though I have been with them for 14 years which is my eyes is poor but it seems to be like that in all aspects of life at the moment, new customers seem to get a great deal while current customers are overlooked.
I am currently looking at Virgin Media for a like for like package or just broadband as there speeds and prices look very good.
Any feedback on Virgin would be much appreciated.
Cheers

I been with virgin since it started as ntl
Never had any issues apart from a knackered box which they replaced as it was about 15 years old.
Bit on the expensive side though imo speed makes up for it though

I changed virgin earlier this year. No problems so far.
I took out one of their special offers.
Free installation, landline, 18 months @ £23.95 250mb/s and welcome credit of £100
So when you take into consideration the £100 credit, over 18 months it's the equivalent of £18.39/month.
When the 18 month contract is up they will be a massive price hike, I'll deal with that nearer the time.

I've been with bt for a while but the new house I've moved yo has never had Internet installed so bt is having a nightmare trying to get me up and running and blaming openreach. I rang up virgin as they don't use open reach and said I'll be up and running by the 12th December this has been going on since bt cut me off a week early on my house move 4th November. They did send out 2 little ee mini hubs to keep the kids entertained but pretty poor. Virgin said there do a new line new fiber optic cables the lot. I'm still holding out for bt though as they have nearly gave me a year's free In compensation and good will gestures.

I pay £64 a month with Virgin and have the ultimate volt package
1gb Broadband
All Movies
All Sports
Sim Card with 10gb data on
Multi Room
This is the result of the exceptional amount of crap customer services and lies I've received and been told by. It's still going on now, my latest bill states i didn't pay the previous month although I did and the app shows I did.
If i could walk away I would took me over 17 hours on the phone to Virgin to sort it out and still they can't even get a bill right.
Cancelled installation 1 day before install was meant to happen leaving me with no broadband and was a month without it.
They have great packages but if it goes wrong you'll never meet such incompetence.

Been with them for years and on the whole I'm pretty happy. When I go on a broadband speed check website, I can compare what speed I'm getting and it also shows what people in my area are achieving and it's always way faster than the rest.
I'm on an unlimited package which is pretty good as I do like my YouTube video's and my youngest son works from home and needs a fair bit of bandwidth. The last time I looked, the likes of Sky cap your usage and charge you extra if you exceed it.
Beware of their high pressure sales team who will ring you at random (from Bangalore if I'm not mistaken) who will try to make you upgrade your package, for an increased cost. They seem oblivious to the term "I'm not interested" and "no" seems a concept they struggle to understand. If you hang up on them, they'll kindly try again a few days later!
I got so frustrated once I called them and was assured I would be put on a blocked senders list. Well, it did work for a while!
