Does anyone use this line? I'm looking to buy some in the brown colour. I love using fluorocarbon but the lake I'm fishing over winter doesn't have a uniform bottom and has quite a few snags between the bank and most spots out in the lake. Braid is banned. Happy for other recommendations for a good sinking mono 👍

I really like Touchdown and use the brown version in 12lb due to the diameter being 0.35mm which is what I like to use.
The 20lb is 0.43mm, for most situations I personally think that is way over the top.
I find I get a decent feel for the drop, get good bite registration and it is pretty abrasion resistant.
Oddly though I have noticed that the Green version appears to degrade more quickly than the brown, I seems to go wirey and coils up after a bit of use, the Brown doesn't do this.

Cheers Shane 👍🏻 Yeah I get that the 20lb 0.43 is totally over gunned! I normally use a 0.40 line or my fluorocarbon is 17lb x line which is 0.37. I was hoping the thicker mono would be heavier and sink better. I tend to slack line with running rigs most places I fish.

I got the 20lb Touchdown to visit a fishery which had the BS as a minimum. Wouldn't go down that route again probably going for Berkeley Big Game, if i wanted to go back there.
I'm not that good of a caster and my swim was only 45-50 yds. Used with 3lb TC rods and a pair of Black Widow BR5000A reels they may not have done the line justice. Found it very difficult to get to that distance. Maybe should have gone for 3oz leads as fishing stringers and small bags.

If I have to use mono (braid is my preference) then brown Touchdown in 20lb is my preference. It will do everything you need. I never had any issues casting it 80 yards with 3lb Greys Prodigy rods.

No problem. If the snags are a real problem another line to consider is Gardner HydroTough. I prefer the way Touchdown handles on the spool for a heavy line, but HT probably just edges it for abrasion.

I have been using this line for the past few years as I was fishing on a very weedy lake. Had no issues at all, loved it the line. Great knot strength, never let me down, had no issues casting to 13 wraps in a cross wind. Could feel the drop OK.

Cheers lads I've ordered some today. I have used touchdown when it first came out and loved it but that was in lower breaking strain.

No the lakes I'm fishing over winter will mainly be around 30-60 yards with the odd longer chuck.

What about esp synchro xt? I use 18lb it's sinks well and is known to be highly abrasion resistant and casts well, sounds like that could be a good option for you.

18lb Syncro is ‘only' .40 vs .43 20lb Touchdown. If snags are an issue I would always go for a thicker diameter line.

I used the syncro loaded in 12lb and loved it but using it in higher breaking strains I really didn't like it as much. I know people recommend the original syncro over the loaded. Thanks for your recommendation though, i will see how the touchdown behaves.

I use the ESP XT Loaded in 15lb and really really like it for stalking or small lake fishing. It sinks like a brick and disappears. It's never broken on me and I'm playing fish hard near to snags etc.
Just like a flourocarbon line I wouldn't want to cast it too far.
