I have a technicat bait boat and started using a Deeper Chirp with it but the 2.4ghz in both clashes and it's too unreliable. I have found a TF500 from a bait boat for a very reasonable price but need advice on the following please.
1) How much roughly for a professional fitting?
2) Will the 2.4ghz on the Tolson clash with the boat again?
3) Is there a better second hand option i.e Dragonfly for similar money i.e sub £300?
Sorry if it's obvious stuff but will finally be on a lake where i can dust the Technicat off next season and am very naive about the technical aspect!!!

I've a deeper pro plus 2 (which is the same as the chirp) with my mk2 technicat and zero problems.
I've found that it's important to ensure the deeper is sitting right when towing it - maybe that's the issue your having ?
I bought the range extender and find with the deeper arm, it never looses signal.
I looked at having the tolson x pilot added at that was £1k.
Then I looked at lithium batteries another £200.
You could always self install though it's not for everyone.
And ultimately the technicat mk2 is an old boat there are many newer alternatives now.
Maybe better off selling your boat and getting an x boat or RT for example ?
I'm sure there will be lots of deals after Xmas and folk looking to cash in.

Everything you say is of course complete sense. The boat is so reliable and the the chirp a bit of a hassle so thought i'd look at fitting a used TF500 which is sub £300. Even selling the boat i'd be looking at adding atleast 1k for a new boat with fitted fishfinder/GPS etc. As you suggest, post Xmas clearouts might be the way to go
