Anyone know what the circular stringer rig with the hookbait in the middle was called back in the day
Gonad rig sticks in my mind for some reason🤣

Maybe regional variations* but if we are talking about the same thing we called it the parachute stringer round our way.

*edit.. just looked and you are in Hampshire, I was fishing around Yateley around that time too.

I'm thinking 'doughnut rig' but not sure.
It would never land in a circle as intended so a waste of time.
A standard 2 or 3 bait stringer for me.
Crack them all half way, and when done I split the middle one into two halves.

We all called it the 'bollox'.

Only 2 days ago I was using a mini bollox,with double fakes ,[one boily either side of a bait]...I use it to cast through suspended leaves...it also helps to straighten a rig out for underarm casts..

I remember using a rig similar to that one winter, except it was 4 22mm halibut pellets 'PVA'd' to my free offering, it was only when I had a take and landed a 20 + mirror with ALL of the baits in its mouth that I realised I had tied it using bait floss instead of PVA! Sometimes they just want it too much!
