I have the Bruce Ashby 'rocketeer ' only spod rod I've ever owned, served me well, but I've always found it hard to compress, certainly not easy to use, always feels like a lot of effort needed.
I use the medium spomb, distances 50-100 or so yards.
Any recommendations? TIA.

I also have a Rocketeer, over 20 years old & I feel its perfect for 50 to 100 yards. Nicest spod rod I've used was a 12ft Freespirit MRS.

Tackle box rod is a fantastic rod. Helped my spomb work massively. Used to struggle around 120 yards now managing 150 yards

I've been using a 13' S-Lite SPM and whilst its a heavy beast it can lob a marker / spomb a long way even with my crappy casting. More recently however I've been using a 10' CTX SPM (for smaller waters) that I originally bought for river spopper work however together with a lighter reel (25mm spool) its way more manageable and can handle small - medium spombs with no bother . . .

Been using a Shimano TX Intensity Spod Rod in12ft. Absolutely amazing rod. Effortless accurate casting.

For me the best balance of cost/performance is the Tackle Box CFX
