Will there be a northern angling show next year?

I'm aware the venue "Event City" is not available however are there plans to stage another angling show "up North"?

If it goes ahead I hope there's a good selection of cheese stands. What's a carp show without cheeses

Northern Carp show is now on last weekend in February 2023

Flat caps and whippets get free admission 😂

Hopefully no cheese 🧀 stalls this year 😂

I won't be buying a ticket until I see the exhibitors list,stitched right up on the last 1

seen a few short videos been released advertising it, no exhibitor list yet so I'll definitely wait before purchasing a ticket,infact I'll pay on the door this time if I go

Re-named to Northern carp show

I think the floor plan is released tomorrow. In the current economic climate I wonder how many of the big names will decide that attending so many big shows in a season isn't feasible anymore. Given the hotel costs and food costs and transportation costs etc.

Big stands cost big money. Where as smaller shell stands for hobby/home/smaller businesses are probably more affordable. Maybe not much more than a pasting table, some posters and a couple of staff.

I remember Graeme of Dymag telling me that his tiny little stand at the Carp Society show cost him over 2k! That was about seven years ago.

Big gamble for them to book trade stands in the current climate I'd say, big gamble on getting the footfall through the door especially by the time 2 or 3 shows have been on in quite close procession , buy carp gear or pay bills is probably a decision for quite a lot of people atm or for anyone whatever their hobby.

Absolutely and it's not just the cost of the stand, which isn't cheap. There's obviously the investment in producing the stock for it. You can't just use existing stock and then not for fill shops orders. So a lot of it is extra production.

Then factor in the room costs. I think when I looked into it a while back the room was going to cost me about £250 for the weekend. Plus food and drink. Now imagine that times ten or twenty staff plus when you look at the exhibitor car park it's full of hire vans. What's two or three of those cost for third,fri,sat,sun and Monday.

I could see this coming recession seeing off a few of the shows. Which is a shame cos I really enjoy them. But then saying that instead of loads of shows I think I'd prefer one monster show at the NEC that every manufacturer could attend as it was the only show of the year. Like a UK zwolle with 30k people a day. Make a real once a year event of it.

this has to be the last throw of the dice for the Northern show, the last one was a disaster by all accounts, organisers might say different but from a punters view it was terrible....making it a carp only show probably won't affect the footfall too much as I don't think there was enough of match orientated stands prior to covid.

**** or bust,but aslong as it gives Jamie enough money to depart to warmer climates for the autumn and winter periods I don't suppose he'll be that bothered
