Yesterday went out for the first time with my new Fox Frontier bivvy. Absolutely love it, compared to my old Aqua Armadillo 2 man.
One thing that I struggled with: how do you organise the undone poles? Do you get the all to one side? Or do you make a 'fold' and have 2 poles the other side.
It's getting a bit used to I think, but I would appreciate your views.

I was very much in the same boat I have been using an M3 compact for the last few years before recently deciding I want something with more head room and swifter set up. After setting up and packing down my new frontier X in the garden I was not really satisfied that I was getting the packdown correct in regards to the elbow folding order. I actually even dropped a note to Fox to see if they would send me their factory process flow for pole folding order Unfortunately no surprise and no success. I'm still trying to find a method I'm really happy with. The closest to pack down nirvana I have got to so far is collapse the block whilst leaving the door unzipped or removed completely. Place the bivvy on the ground/ or groundsheet. Then fold the front material back on itself then fold in the front three poles in 1st then work from right to left on the elbows whilst trying to fold the material with care.
I will be honest to me it still feels like I'm missing a trick but it the tightest / smallest pack down I have achieved so far. But I agree it really feel like there may be a better order such as the middle first then the to he next two left and right then the final outer poles

That doesn't show how to pack it down completely, only how to undo the central boss.

You are exactly describing my issues. I also think the trick is in the middle, back pole. Just tried it again, but my aqua armadillo was far more easily to be packed down.

It's a common complaint I feel from speaking with others that have come from a pramhood style bivvy I spoke to a fella on my water today who has had one since initial release and asked him on his long term user thoughts. His words were exactly " It's fantastic love it to bits quick to go up but a right pain in the backside to fold up nicely on the packdown".
Whilst sat here in mine at present I'm considering when it comes to packdown popping the padded cap on the ETS block standing it on its end so to speak then folding the elbows. Perhaps this may make starting with the middle rib easier. May also be a bloody nightmare mind and true idea of lunacy 🤪

Yes I love it too. Lots of features, even used the windows yesterday. But packing down, you need to learn.

From 4 minutes on you can see all the poles are folded the same way. The middle pole is just twisted (not folded) to get it to do what we want.
