I have an atom powapac, which I'm not overly impressed with TBH as it seems to drain more quickly than it should. The powapac has an a AC outlet. So, which would use more power- charging direct from the usb cable or through the usb via the AC plug?

If you are plugging into AC (230v outlet) the voltage has to be stepped up which will drain the (12v) battery more than just using straigh usb which is stepped down.
