Can anyone recommend a strong clip to attach a deeper to braid I have tried the loop with small loop method when undoing it always ends up in a tangle after I've spent a lot of time trying to undo it

Persevere with it if you can. Like a lot of us I only use one rod with braid for spod deeper marker etc and the loops make life so simple. I probably use a 8inch loop with a half inch loop on the end.

If you are not already try figure 8 for both the large and the small loop. The small loop is less likely to slip with thin braid and I've found the slightly larger knot makes it easier to pick and unloop.

I just find I am picking at it and then I end up in a tangle I wish I could use the loop I know a lot of people use it just thought a strong clip would be easier

I use Berkley stuff for pike fishing, something like this may suit, pick the strength you want

Suggest also using a wire trace in case there are any Pike in the vicinity!
