Got my first spod reel on order so thinking about what to load it up with. I've got some cheapy Kastking 40lb braid in the garage, will I be OK using this straight through or is it worth using a length of 75lb braid I've also got as a shock leader?
My casting ability definitely needs some work so there's not much finesse but only looking to put out a medium sized spomb 60 yards max

I'd use a thicker shockie just to make it easier on your finger.

never used a shock leader personally. midi spomb 60 yards no problems at all on 40lb braid.
not bragging but i can send one 120yards on straight through braid, youll be fine
