I've been using the Korda Subline Tapered for a while and I'm happy with it. Just be aware that the 40lb section is quite long so if you don't trim it back you'll have too many turns of it on your reel and it will reduce casting distance. I trimmed mine back so I had 1 1/2 turns of the thick section on the spool.

Do you think one and a half turns is enough ? It doesn't seem a lot to me.

Definitely not enough, if the knot at the rig end need redoing those 1 and a half are gone.

Been using the Korda products since they arrived and I really rate them but it is really the one piece tapered principle I like. Sure the Fox and Gardner products will be fine.
I use the Subline tapered for solid bags where leaders are banned. My small bags with a 3-3.5 oz flat pear go 4.5-5.5 oz when ready for casting and some form of leader is necessary to safely hit them hard. As well as leaving live rigs in the water crack offs are potentially dangerous on busy lakes.
I've found the the Subline casts well, sinks well and knots beautifully. The 12m high diameter 0.50mm leading section is kinder to fish and highly abrasion resistant so you can pretty much cast it anywhere, like your bag. I am not a big fan of low stretch mono but the long chuck gives me a bit more distance as does trimming the leader (Korda recommend max 5m) but with 6 turns on the reel. Up to 120 yds I don't faff about. Depending on rules I load up with 12 lb or 15 lb straight off the spool onto the reel and fish. These days I use these products for nearly all my fishing. My experience is with the Korda and Fox products. Both are fine. Not used the Gardner.

Doesn't seem a lot to me either.
I'd rather lose a few yds distance than have to strip off and reverse a line.
I take it these lines are tapered each end ?

All the ones mentioned are double tapered. My thoughts exactly on trimming for what will only be minimal gain.

I've trimmed mine down so there are 5 turns on the spool, up to now not had to trim anything off (using the 30lb - 12lb) on three rods, I always carry a spare spool just incase and some 20lb line to back it up with...
