Hi , whilst using my trusty esp low pro the weekend I noticed the wire that holds the spokes in position on the central boss of umbrella has rusted and snapped , any idea if this can be repaired and what wire is needed ? Anyone else has the same issue ?

Not on my low pro when I owned it but had a Trakker brolly system years ago same thing happened the wire at the boss holding all the spokes broke/snapped after a few years it was a mild steel wire that went rusty from moisture and obviously the constant opening and closing had snapped the wire through only noticed when one time opening the brolly ribbed dropped down looked like it had been like it for a while hanging up by the grace of God until it fully collapsed, it took a bit of time and fiddling but I re-wired mine with some stainless steel welding wire was as good as new plus being stainless out lived the remainder of the brollies use.

If you can find gardening wire it can be repaired.
I've had a few brollies where the wire has snapped, once when a storm came out of nowhere and pulled the brolly inside out.
It's fiddly, a pair of pliers or mole grips to twist it tight is needed as well as a bit of care and patience

Stainless tying wire from a construction site used by steel fixers if you can get it.....not the mild steel type that's invariably rusty though.
Car and motorcycle racers use a very similar wire to prevent fasteners undoing if you know any.
Strip the earth cable out of a bit of flat twin and earth domestic cable. It wont last very long but might do a couple of outings if you are stuck and had a roll in the garage.
The easiest to source will be galvanised garden tying wire, costing about £3.

Had the exact same thing happen to my Groundhog FS a couple of years ago, which is why it's been at the back of the garage ever since!

Cheers for reply gents , got hold of some wire and had a go , wire I got is slightly to thick so will need to get some 2mm instead .it's currently in about 15 pieces on my lawn and after plenty of swearing and a few kicks that's were it's staying for now until I volley it over next doors garden 🤷♂️🤯🤯 , anyone selling a low pro get in touch please 😂😂🤷♂️

This problem of the wire rusting and snapping used to be a common problem with just a normal umbrella.
Its always best to store and keep them upright (Top of bivvy uppermost) so that any water or condensation inside does not run down and pool in the top of the inside of the brolly as it has no where to go and eventually just corrodes the wire over time.
Storing the brolly upright, the water just runs out into the bag or holdhall etc.
Garden centres may have the galvanised wire you need as I get if for my plants. I think I got mine from Aldi's or Lidls in one of there gardening sales and did it in 3 different thickness's

I had this happen on a tracker brolley a few years ago and rewired it with a metal coat hanger, bit of a faff, but it lasted another 2 seasons
