Anyone understand how these companies that went bankrupt or some that are still trading were / are affected by the rising costs of gas / electricity if there energy is from 100% renewable sources........

The reason is because they never were! Electricity that gets sent to your house comes from a variety of sources and you can't sort out what comes from where.
Several years ago I worked in the Chemical Industry producing CHFC's (similar to CFC's that used to be used in fridges or aerosols) that chewed up the ozone layer. Our plant was pretty efficient and any gases released were burnt in an incinerator at the back of the plant to neutralize them. We were allowed to release a certain amount of gas as part of our license and because we were always under, we "sold" our capacity to other companies that struggled and this was known as Carbon Trading. I suspect that Companies claiming to be renewable are using a similar scheme.

So do gooding lefty woke vegans who thought they were saving the planet using these companies have been conned.....give it a few years and they will no doubt be allowed to claim against them for missold energy......

Someone else told me something very similar. A small printing company buying someone else's capacity so they could become carbon neutral.
