I know a few of you are bike owners so I'm asking for any advice on buying a first bike (motor not pedal)
Never owned one. Would need to take a test. Wanting something that will be OK for town and short motorway journeys to work. Not interested in any boy racer rubbish.

The pair with the exposed backside detail could get drafty...
Tinhead- my thinking is that it would cut down massively on fuel so maybe greener? Am I mistaken?

Greta will not be happy with you of all people Mal......
That said, My father in law rides a 125cc scooter........does 75mph so good for dual carriageways / motorways and good around town......

Greta and I are fine. Still on each others recycled Christmas card list.
Just reread the article and realised its 16 years old. I'll have to see if it's still so bad. Surely a 250 / 400 cc bike is going to be less harmful than my car? (And hopefully a good amount cheaper too)

More up to date report
I'm not saying don't get one, you'll be using less fuel but it never occurred that it could be up for debate.
I suppose bikes don't have cats, filters and other stuff that cars do?
