Hi all. Looking at upgrading my barrow , long walk and getting old lol...either global angling conversion or used mk7 if I can get one..... question is... I use a plank to get my loaded barrow out the van , will I knacker the power bit , pulling a loaded barrow out backwards and rolling it down a ramp, or does it need unloading before .... Told you it was odd one... anyone do the same and had any issues , cheers all

I've done it to my prestige power Porter for over 10 years
I think its a mk3 so there's no reverse or free wheel

I've a mk6...... when pushing barrow up plank into van I always put it in free wheel👍
also when I've reached my swim I unplug battery connection,to stop battery drain,especially if staying overnight etc

Is putting in free wheel just a case of pulling a pin or something like. Never owned one 🤷🏼♂️😂

I have a mk6 and it has reverse on it so use that when reversing out of the van, the 'free-wheel' is easy enough to engage though

They are good. The guy lives near me. I popped round his house and had a look at them. Certainly plenty of power from what I saw. They have just released an updated version with simpler electric connections and a better battery bag.

I think I ned a new general barrow, bought a carp porter last year its already got loads of rust and the frame flexs ridiculously with a light load, shame they switched production to china

I have built many power barrows using wheelchair type motors, these have reverse and use it to drive barrow out of the van fully loaded.
I have a Transit custom and use a motorcycle ramp to load and unload.
Have never had a problem with driving up or down the ramp.
I have a new 24volt Triporter I have built if you want to see how easy it is.
I currently use a MK4 S evo that i converted 5 years ago, it will easily carry 100Kg for over 4Km, this drives up or down the ramp with ease.
