Just wanted to know has anyone changed from a tempest brolly to oval brolly I know it's normally the other way round any regrets

It's normally the other way around for a reason in my eyes. What makes you want to change?
I can't think of any benefits other than maybe a kilo less weight.
I've gone from an oval to a small pram-hood and recently to a Tempest and really can't see me changing again. The Tempest is just as quick to put up, offers a lot more room and is far sturdier than anything I've had before. I'd bloody hate reverting to sitting hunched up under spokes.

Add the weight of two storm poles and the lightest oval will be not lighter than the tempest brolly.
There is nothing as quick to put up in terms of instant coverage or that you put up from the inside. I've worn a 50 and 60” like a turtle shell setting up in the rain many a time 
That's why we have used umbrellas for millennia and they don't sell little 24” tempests or Armos on a stick for when it rains.
The spokes also make great rig racks with the added fun of running the gauntlet when you dislodge a few stiff hinge rigs in the night somewhere on the bed chair.

Depends really what your going to use it for. I have two shelters a tempest bivvy and a fast and light. If im doing an over nighter i will always take the tempest but if its days only i will take the fast and light. As mentioned below the brilly is much easier to put up especially if its raining when you get there. I had a tempest air years ago that i used for day sessions which is more of a comparison to a brolly and i prefer the simplicity of the the fast and light over the air i had.

I don't like brollys, I hate messing about with storm poles and when I have used them I usually leave the short side ones on. 4 storm poles, cant think of anything worse 
Brollys are fine until the wind changes direction and it's ripping it out of the ground or lashing rain in, nothing like getting up in the night to get piss wet through whilst you turn it around, never mind blowing gear all over the place. Can't beat a quick shelter with a front on for me, zip it up

Only ever used two storm poles on a brolly and they stay permanently attached, never bothered with the longer front two poles.
