Having an issue with one of my heli safe,casts ok feather the lead stop it before hits water and it's dropping the lead on impact ?


Anyone know why this is ?

Have you tried opening it up and cleaning it out. Sometimes grit gets stuck in them and can stop the mechanism working correctly

Poor product tbh lost trust in it they have all come off and it's back to lead clips with long booms

How do you keep the lead on with them ? Struggling to see where the color is supposed to go ?

The collar that stops the lead ejecting? That goes in with the spring

Honestly, break them apart and rinse them out and they will work fine

Did that happened again twice,just put collars in and dropped the lead side down to 2oz

Assume you are lining everything up correctly? I use 3.5 oz leads on mine and have only ever had issues when they have got grot in them

Whatever you do don't buy the new mini versions. I used them on one session then next session did my usual rig check before casting out and saw the body on both of them had cracked. Like split down the middle, the lead could have potential flown off

These things are like nuclear weapons. You wish you could but can't un-invent them

Mental how we have to take it apart and clean it every cast for it to work correct 🤣i

This is user error or a bad batch they work absolutely fine for me ? Only thing I can think of in a moulding deformity shortening the rentention arm or you aren't setting it up correctly.

I know Korda charge some eye watering prices for stuff but you couldnt call these poor quality on the whole

Seems everyone has said springs need to be regularly cleaned no ?

Definitely user error!!
I have been using since they come out and never had a problem.
