I know it's started warming but really suprised to see a lake near me in East Sussex have started spawning

It'll be young males racing around doing what young males do. Females will be chilling in the sun.

As Essexandy has said, the males are heading to the spawning areas all ready, and have filled up with milt.
I was watching the fish on my lake this week, and the females are at the opposite end of the lake from most of the male fish.

The fish in my pond have been going at it the past few days, only have 2 females and one of then was getting bashed around while the other isnt quite ready yet. Poor gal
