So 10 years ago when my girl was born I gave up carp fishing and sold all my gear
Then in 2020 during lockdown and feeling lonely thought **** it ill get back in to carp fishing so bought all the kit , all top end as I'm an idiot .

Then met a lovely lady who I married a couple of months ago even loves coming fishing with me

So I was doing loads of sea fishing and not using the carp stuff and I'm too old to stay on the bank now anyway and sold it all again and lost my shirt

So end of last year my littleone asked me to take her fishing I took her on the river and she loved it river closed took her to a lake and she now has a pb of 12lb and she is mad for it and I've got her her own kit

So yet again I need some gear but am not going mad this time and as I'm only fishing small lakes with her thought I would get some 2.5 tc rods to enjoy it more

But after the Mills and boon (sorry) my reason for being here I can't find any unless there floater rods so will these be OK for normal fishing or are there any suggestions you guys have

Again sorry for the long winded post and I have thumb cramp now lol 😆

2.5 tc ,you say..look no further the freespirit ctx,abreviated..

Use mine everywhere,big ressi,no problem,small pond no problem..

Do they bend?..yes they do pleasingly so,and are not overly expensive..want to enjoy the power of a angry double under the rod tip ...go for it..



Oh,and when you've bought em,don't sell.em...lol

Sports Direct Diem Impact 9ft 2.5lb cheap, if she really keeps taking to it you can upgrade later. If it turns out the other way it wouldn't of broken the bank.

Greys aircurve are a decent rod for the money. You could pick a new set up fairly cheap not sure if it's still the case.

I'd check out the tackle box range of rods

Am looking at some second hand rods and have come across 3x nash outlaw 2.5 tc for 75

And 2 diawa powermesh 2.5 tc x2 for 50 or
Shimano perfection 2.5 tc x2 for 50

Any thoughts on these

Either the shimano or Daiwas should do it,I'm familiar with all three blanks actually,as coupla 'lanson massive' lads had them..back in the day. ..

Power mesh originals were nice with that carbon patterning on the blanks..

How about the nash rods I've never bought any of there stuff to be honest as quality was always questionable

I believe in being honest..bloke I fished with all over UK and abroad,he got rid of his lovely ,lovely old skool power mesh rods ,for Nashy versions as he got em cheap at a show..

I remember standing open mouthed ,looking at his purchase,but they never let him down ,either abroad on local lakes,they were £90,for three of them ,Tony's Tackle deal..

(He also had the whole kaboodle,of Solar ,everything..you can think of,swapped it for a Nash four play ,omg..)

If it was me,and we are all different,I'd go Daiwas,as I remember the playing action was very good plus they were made in UK.

Probably no help as I have no knowledge of the others two but. I have tried a few times to replace my original powermesh 2 3/4 and 2 1/4 rods but keep going back to them. As long as you don't mind 30mm rings and the handle creaking with strong fish they are lovely
