Do you mean the size of tge tubing tge bead sits on? It's a tapered piece of rubber more than a tube

I assume the cone shaped bead has different flavours as well, ones for mono, leadcore/safe zone leaders

I found it out by trial and error with what I had in my tacklebox but using the Fox no trace beads but not sure what the diameter was, apart from it was an old style black rig tubing that i had from the 80's. If I recall, I could not find any silicone tubing that would fit, It would either fit the bead tight, but the internal diameter would be too big to fit snug on the leader etc, or it would fit the leader snug, but too small for the outside diameter to fit the bead.

They used to supply a tapered plug , which I found snagged on weed etc
The new kits for tubing have 3 bits of silicone supplied which appear to be more suitable
You can buy spare beads but not the tubing
0.5 is too small to thread onto tubing

But if the tubing snags the weed the bead definately will, it has a greater dismetre?

When I said snag I was referring to the awkward way the tapered sleeve sits and gathers
Weed etc on retrieve, sometimes forcing the bead off
And having to clean the hook, lead and bead and then the end of the tubing 😂
And the float stops won't work on tubing , thanks I know where your coming from

An alternative for you for using a bead on tubing when using a heli set up which I'm guessing you are using look at the gardener covert safety beads tapered bore beads they are exactly what I use and works great the beads just grips the tubing enough but would come of easy if you cracking of

Thanks lads , I can, and do use esp beads but would like to be safer
My friend gave me a few of the new tubing kit beads and silicone sleeves to try and I feel they are better than the ones I used on a naked setup in the past
But I don't want or need the full kit as I'm happier with how I set up a heli on tubing
I can't post a picture , but I'm talking about the new Korda helisafe
They withdrew the old ones , and the only difference I can see is the bead sleeve , which I feel is an improvement
