Does the posting activity on the forum die down in spring and summer due to anglers getting out an about or do people take their IT with them and continue to post?

I'd hazard a guess that it's pretty even. In the winter, more time to write about things as people don't go fishing as much, but in the summer there's more to discuss because people are fishing.
Personally, I don't post whilst on the bank.

user experience for this site, is worse than it was 10 years ago, every page you have to click away an advert! is that my browser or what!?

Install an AdBlocker.
I use AdBlock Plus on my personal laptop, no ad's at all.
Not sure if there is an equivalent for mobiles?
