I couldn't book my usual 6am eurotunnel slot as they were really busy the day I want to travel so have had to book a 1.20am departure which is not ideal

My question is, are there any recommendations for somewhere to stop off on the toll roads that would be safe? I was thinking of having my bedchair set up on the back of my estate and pulling into a motorway services to grab a few hours sleep

Anyone done this or could recommend somewhere en route

I'm travelling to Moulinots near Sommeilles

Cheers

Why don't you get a later train ? They will let you on as I've done this myself in the past that way you don't have to hand about too long.

When you going ? As I'm out there in June

All the services have big sleeping car parks. If you feel nervous maybe try getting near the forecourt.

I think I'll drive down to near the lake and find somewhere to park up. Venues are usually in remote locations so should be fine. Will just need a few coffees en route!

Book a little l'otel somewhere an hour or so away - usually dirt cheap and decent food!

Thanks for the advice.

Checked eurotunnel today and they've opened up more time slots. Probably due to increased demand as a result of the P&O issues

Managed to book a later train so staying over in Ashford before catching a more reasonable timed train

Ashford is rough as hell. Check your car/gear is in a secure car park....

Personally I'd rather just pull over on the Peage in France and get a couple of hours sleep in the motor as I have done so before.

I would personally check into Eurotunnel and sleep in their car park for a couple of hours if that's a option

Just to clarify, I'm staying at a hotel that I usually stay at and not sleeping in my car!
