Evening, does anyone know if the bail arm on the Shimano Ci14 5500 XTD should close automatically on turning the handle?

The days of auto bail on reels is over.
If you examined the mechanism on those reels that do still have this feature, even on top end kit, you would still close the bail manually...
Daiwa TDR series a perfect example. The trip is a piece of chatty plastic about the size of a 1/4 of a matchstick that costs more in postage to be sent from Daiwa than the 17 pence item cost. Mine broke 2nd cast on the retrieve.
