I was planning on having my rods rebuilt with Fuji Titanium K Guides but have stumbled across the American Tackle Ti Forged Air Guides...
Has anyone got any experience of these good or bad?

I have just had a set of Aviators 12ft 6 rods custom made by Nick Buss and I had the Ti forged rings put on. I have not had chance to use the rods yet but the rings look superb and appear to be very strong. One point to note is that I had a 50mm butt ring put on and the rings do stand a long way off the blank. This is fine but the only rod sleeve that would hold them is the korda compaq range. All the others would not zip up.

Did you try the Cotswold Trident.
Unsure if I should go for 50 or 40mm Butt rings with this style of ring...

My rod building mate Chris Palmer formally of pottys leads builds/rebuilds loads of rods with American Tackle guides/rings. They're lighter than minimas and cost less. Tbh, they look great and have had a cast etc with his rods built with them, and they certainly do the job well

40's. No rod should have 50mm guides, they are hideous looking things.

No I didn't try the trident. But i did buy 3 Solar sleeves before the rods arrived and found they didn't fit. Had to sell on ebay and buy the Korda ones but they are still a tight fit. You may be OK with proper rod holdalls but I like the separate sleeves. As for 50 or 40mm butt rings it is probably down to personal preference. I have always had 50mm but in hindsight 40mm would have been a lot less hassle.

Those 50mm guides really are horiffic things in that pattern , the only repairs i do now are guides and i would say 90% are 50mm butt guide . They are prone to being crushed as like you say they dont fit into rod bags etc.
