Ffs. It's pretty much at the point custom rods are pricing themselves out of existence.
What with 1k+ bivvies, £750 on alarms and £400+ pods etc. it really is beyond a joke

Everything will continue to go up in price until someone gets a grip on fuel prices.
Since the advent of the manufactured fuel crisis my diesel costs have gone up from £30 a day to just about squeezing home on £40 a day....I work 7 days a week so it's costing me £70 a week more to do the same job.
This applies across the board...Shell profits for the last quarter have gone from JUST £900 million to £12 billion.
It's an absolute piss take

A factory built 12ft 2.25 multi carp is now £276 !!!! And some of the aviator range (13ft 4.5) are a few quid under £490 . Crazy prices but as said all companies will be sticking up prices.
I travelled down to liverpool for the football yesterday and then to manchester for the boxing and noticed a significant hike in fuel cost !!!! Diesel was £1.75 on mway !!!!!!!

Fuel poverty is practically here. Just wait until Putin invades the Ukraine, they'll add another another quid to the cost of a litre. Thank god I work from home mostly.

I can't see that happening anytime soon unfortunately.
This isn't some political rant:
The nonsense kabuki theater that's going on over in Ukraine - Johnson puffing himself up like some self styled Winston Churchill type character because he wants to cut an economic trading deal with the Biden admin, with the Biden admin hating on the Germans because they absolutely need the Nordstreem 2 pipeline to go ahead because the Germans have nigh on ended nuclear power production and the Biden admin want to crush (and i'd posit Johnson wants some sweet revenge over the Germans) the powerhouse of Europe...and using the total cobblers that they've crafted of the imminent invasion of Ukraine as a smokescreen for their silly drama. Because of all of this silliness, the speculators have ramped up the prices, Johnson and Co aren't doing anything to lessen the speculation only exacerbating the situation; 4 minute warning when? We'll be all be paying sky high prices until god knows when.
It really wouldn't be a surprise to me at all if the price rises will become the "new normal", I mean, how hard would it be for them to conjure up some flannel about 'muh climate change' and "we have to accept these new prices rises to offset imminent climate catastrophe" and have the tax pounderino's come 'a' rollin in; they're just so predictable.
If you can, best get what you mostly need now before the prices go stratospheric.

And yet you can buy a comparable (totally capable) imported fully built rod to each of those for less than half of that. There's no need for £500 rods, none at all
I've cleared right out and will be going to a pair of drennan super specialists, 4 esp or Nash retractables and pennies on the spool

Yeah, I'm just keeping minimal as always,I don't use top end gear,neither do I want it either..it won't catch you anymore fish for sure..

A lot of stuff has done it recently all free spirit rods went up in the new year, I've been looking at getting some 12ft 3.5 hi-s all black edition they are around £528 each now but was around the £475 before hand so that's an extra £150 extra now for nothing
