Due to job/family commitments I can now only manage a single overnighter per week 12hrs max. The lake is too far to prebait and is what most would call a 'circuit water' so would unlikley get back in a baited swim anyway! Finding the fish will obviously be #1 priority, but after that bait is playing on my mind! I want to use paste as freebies and hookbait but worried about how long it will reasonably last. The water is very weedy and some swims have no clean spots and a chod/SH is really the only way to present. Has anyone had any experience wrapping corkballs in paste and meshing them? Have tested in a glass of water and seems OK, but in a glass of tap water vs the lake will probably be quite different, would glugging or adding anything to the paste for the hookbaits help keep them whole for longer? I dont want to boil and defeat the object of using paste! How about curing them in salt? The paste is the BM1 mix. Cheers

Yup it's fine over night, even in “flowing” water of the light river adur 🤣

Key is to be a nice fine weave tight, I'd also add a bit of wheat gluten to make the paste a bit tackier it gets you a couple of extra hours, it doesn't need to be a stiff paste either.

So long as you don't use something really wide holed like arma mesh it's resilient enough.

Top tip if you live in Brighton like me, it's fairly common to see people dressed as the other gender, thus Amazon prime avoids any of the mistaken thoughts lol

Use paste wraps all winter exactly as you described. Corkball wrapped in paste and meshed in tights get it super tight so bits of paste protrude from the tiny holes and then give it another roll around in your palm this will completely cover the tights in paste. I just use regular boilie paste with nothing added lasts 12 hours no problems 👍🏼
