I've broken the transmitter/handset for my Microcat HD.
It's a Spektrum DX5e.
I don't think they are made anymore but Ive managed to purchase a secondhand one off eBay.
It should arrive this week.
Do I need to synchronise the replacement handset with the boat? If so, how do I go about it.
Any advice would be most welcome.

The process is called binding which involves opening the boart and connecting a binding cable to the boat transmitter then operating the handset in a certain way.
Looking on RC forums this seems to be the case, I'd hoped it would just work out the box though this stuff is sadly not plug and play.
I'd be inclined to drop them a quick email (angling technics) and see what they say. Or if one of the boat boat makers out their has a Facebook page and does AT boats ask.

I ended up going to a local model shop.
While they don't do bait boats the owner was happy to give me advice on how to carry out the repaire.
Job done.
