I hear angling direct have opened a new shop at hedge end Southampton. Was wondering if any of you guys have been in there yet and is it any good

Used to live down that way and use to have shergolds ,pongdesters and go out doors where I worked for a while I would imagine they will do some trade .

Mate of mine popped in there yesterday recons there was a queue of about 40 mins to get saved it was so busy

Basic tackle, bait, etc they are ok.
Rods, reels, bivies etc very little stock - can be ordered in from AD warehouse though.
Great as a convenient shop for odds and sods.
Poingdestres is far better.

Nothing ruins the local independent fishing communities like a soulless angling direct store...

I make a point of never giving them a penny.

My local one is great friendly guys who run it

I use my local tackle shop first, if he hasn't got what I want I'll use angling direct.

I had a look round yesterday. Friendly staff knowledgeable about local waters. Good basic stuff, not much high end tackle on display. Think I prefer the feel of Homestores and Romsey Bait and Tackle though.
