I've used go outdoors a fair bit for price matching and there's a stor about half an hour from me which I go to every now and again too.
I've never had a problem price matchng stuff they've always been quite good. However I've just gone to price match something for £270 and they have responded saying they aren't price matching because its in a sale!!??
The terms and conditions don't say anything about not price matching due to being in a sale only that the don't price match a promotional code being used which I'snt the case.
Has anybody else had this from them?

Yes,I had it with a headtorch.They would not honour it at all,I ended up contacting their customer service department and they sorted it out

I've rang them but says their phone lines are closed even though it states on the automated phone message their Saturday phone line hours are 9am-5.30pm.
I had a reply from another person via email saying sorry for any confusion and that they do accept sale price matches just not liquidation sales so can I provide the link to the competitors page again. So I sent it again.
Then got a reply from the original person that declined it saying no they can't accept it. So I've just ordered from the competitor now, can't be arsed all seems a bit of a joke.

I think some more training for some staff is needed.My local stored moved a while back and the new manager is brilliant,she is really on the ball and sorts things out really quickly

Similar to you, always been spot on. Bought a jacket a while ago and they had a book under the counter, hand written with companies who they would price match
I guess a sale price / clearance could be out of scope, any terms and conditions?

Yes there seemed to be two people responding to my emails one of which was the first one that declined my price match and then continued to say it didn't qualify and then another that said it did and they do match sale items just not closing down or liquidation sale which it wasn't... I then got bored and have bought from elsewhere.
