I currently have a trakker nxg 12' 3 rod holdall . I'm having some 12'6 rods made so may end up having to get a new holdall if they don't fit . Whilst I like what I have I'm not sure whether I should get the 13' version of the same or something different whilst I have an opportunity . I like the look of the thinking anglers quiver and 3/4 sleeves . I've always been put off by quivers because of the lack of protection both in the car and whilst stored at home . I'd love to hear from people who have gone from one to the other and your thoughts on the advantages / disadvantages of both . I'm guessing my main concern being ‘protection' , thanks .

Thanks bivvy bug . I do like the look of this system and it seems to give reasonable protection with just a small part uncovered . Would you say that this system is quicker / lighter than a holdall , thanks ?

3 rod sleeve much quicker than a quiver and sleeves / tip tops / reel pouch / butt ring protection. By the time you've sorted that lot out your rods are packed and on the barrow in a decent sleeve . . .and the protection is better in transit. Only time I use a quiver is for river fishing, but then I'm more bothered about weight saving than protection as the walks are longer / no barrow etc . .

If using sleeves I don't use tip protector or reel covers just put in sleeve pull draw cord I think two three rod sleeve is quicker but you haven't got the option of splitting rods. If you ever wanted to take one you have to take the whole thing

As soon as you start adding sleeves and all the rest to a quiver, it's just one big faf, far quicker, far cheaper, to just use a decent holdall, or 3 rod sleeve.
Had holdalls back in the day. As that was what was available
But got a quiver and sleeves when they came out. I agree with others, such a faff.
But for over 10 years now I've used the chub 5 rod sleeve
So quick to get rods out and back in and decent protection .
I nearly always do 24 hours max so setup and pack up time is important to me. In all my kit.
