Store the battery off the floor if it's concrete, keep it on trickle charge via a charger that cycles. That's about it to my knowledge.

Depends on what type of battery you have. Lithium, lead acid ,AGM?
For best longevity
Use a charger suitable to the type you have.
Lead acid best to not discharge below 50%, probably 40 % ok ish for your leisure battery, store fully charged with charger disconnected unless you have a suitable charger that supplies a float charge.
Lithium prefer to be stored partially charged and are happy with partial charge/ discharge.

Keep them charged and avoid long periods of storing in the cold. A decent charger that also has a recondition function such as a C Tec charger is also a benefit.

I store mine under the stairs in doors as the cold absolutely destroys them
Like someone else said get a decent charger, CTek / Noco are good.
I also have a Bluetooth battery monitor connected to one of mine so you can keep an eye on charge levels.
Look for Battery Monitor on eBay.

I'm not a fan of trickle charging. I'm always wary of electronics running prolonged times without supervision (probably no need to, I know). There's something about batteries that makes me paranoid, probably because I've experienced a few times what damage they can do in a split second when used improperly.
I store them in battery boxes in a spot that doesn't get too cold. Every two to three weeks I just charge them a few hours. Never had any issues and I sleep better.
