I'm going to order some new rods today either the century stealth graphene in 12ft 3.5lb or the free spirit hi s ive.
I want them as a bit of an all rounder.

What would you suggest as I can't make up my mind.

No experience of either rod but the Century rod is UK built and more advanced materials in its build.

I have three of the Century Stealth Graphene's in 3.25tc and cannot fault them, great all round rod, they do everything and more that I need, and are a great players rod.

The His Ive is definitely not an all rounder, It's great for bag work at distance, range work etc.. I've had a little go with the Graphene 3.5lb and I would say this has the softer action out of the two...

Ive had a few sets of hi s from 10' 2.75's, 12'6 3.25's and 12' 2.5's and they are all excellent. The stand out one being the 12'6 3.25tc which was a superb all rounder probably the best hi s blank in the entire range for me. Ive currently got a set of 2.5 stealth graphenes and they are superb. My 2.5 hi s would feel a bit dead in comparison to the 2.5 stealth graphenes. The graphenes are not a fast actioned blank even the 3.5's are still a fishing rod. Out of the two the graphenes win hands down. More responsive, nicer action etc and they are so slim so the graphenes would be my choice but you wont go wrong with either in reality. I would personally go and try them both out though as your findings might be totally opposite to mine. The only slight downside for me is the alps reel seats, but they are growing on me.

I've been in the Tacklebox today looking at rods. Quite taken with the century stealth graphene 12ft 3.5lb. I'm really looking for a rod that doesnt just bend in the top 3ft but has the ability to cast 4 oz straight through with 0.35 to a good distance. Anyone using these? Are they a tippy rod or do they bend to the middke? Had a waggle and the butt section feels quite beefy, so i reckon they will cast as far as i need ,no problem.

That's exactly the rods I have. No problem casting a 4 oz lead or pva bags. I don't normally fish further than 120 yards and get there with ease.
I think they are alright to play fish on, no where near as nice as my 3lb aircurves but then again I don't expect them to be.
