Never seen a better coating than the one on the nash skinlink. Extremely tough. Hooklink sinks perfectly as well, can be steamed in any form you like, it's all perfect.

But then the performance on the bank. Screaming take, but all i landed was a lead and a hooklink without a hook. Hmm, might have been taken to deep, maybe it took the bait too deep and the link got destroyed between its teeth. Yeah, they are really having it.

New rig, another day, ffs again.

New rig, i'm kinda slow sometimes , and this time i land the fish to see it hanging from the last fiber of the link.

Ahhh, penny drops.

So, i take the unster and the nash stripping tool and get to work. Unstripped, perfect, well above breaking strain. But then stripped. Line breaks well below breaking strain. Repeat, the same. Ok, i heat the coating first, maybe that works. But the coating is just too strong, you have to use force to remove it. I take the loop to study the line, and you guessed it by now, the coating is so freaking good that it's almost impossible not to damage the braid while stripping.

10 out of 10 on all counts it is, apart from the fact that i can not trust it when stripped.

Very strange that I know a couple who swear by it. are you using a stripping tool? I believe the nash one has different gauges in it?

Yup, using the stripper disk from nash, the largest groove (0,4) with the 20lb hooklink. Maybe i should have added that i've never had a problem with the 25lbs, but i switched to 20lbs because the loop knot becomes quite bulky with the 25lbs.

It's not like i'm stripping it like a complete hooligan, and for that matter i've been stripping away for years with many coated hooklinks, and never had a problem no matter how i abused the links. Usually the problems were with the coating tearing a bit.

For the record, happily using many nash products, but this one surprised me a bit and just putting it out there to see if others have experienced the same.

A very comprehensive stripping past then 😂

I'd just go back to 25, if the knots bedded well then I don't think the size of the knot matters on hooklink

Gardner Ultra-Skin and Kryston Synx are worthy alternatives.
