heard about the first Fox Horizon 12ft 2,75lbs is a build on a Free Spirit ES Blank?

The es is superb, you will struggle to find a better players rod. Dont think the fox rods were built on the same blank though. They might look similar.

the ES Rods are ultra slim like hi-s ? Would go the custom route,

Very slim.
Selling mine after many good experiences with them.
Very capable rods at short to medium range.

There not as slim as the hi s as i had the 2.5 hi s and my es were a much nicer blank than the 2.5 hi s.

Personal opinion but I've owned the es and xs and believe they both have the same top section and different butt's. Depends on what you want from the blank. I've also had Harrison accurix which I thought was a nicer playing rod, baby ballister, armalite, low test curve stealth graphene. If paying for custom build you really need to veaw as many options as possible before choosing the blank. Speak to a few decent rod builders and tell them exactly what you are looking for.
