Russian troops holding live fire exercises in Belarus. Very handy if you wanted to invade Ukraine from the North and East. Cutting off Kiev and everything Ukrainian East of the huge Dnipro river.

This is the start of a new proxy war which will last for the rest of our lifetimes. The question is, where is NATO's red line. Ukraine will fall and we'll accept it. I think any further incursions into Estonia/Lithuania will be that red line. Thing is, we are so reliant on Russian money. Any massive financial punishment for an invasion will just result in Russia switching the tap off and pull out vast amount of finances out of the UK.
Russia has more troops on the border of Ukraine than we do on our whole little island. That's not including those in Belarus, Moldova and Crimea.
It's alright though, just make sure you get their pronouns correct and we may be able to have a work do at christmas with any luck.

I know what you mean. I guess they have already made a tidy profit in commercial/residential property. They'll walk out with more than they put in anyway. Plenty of other tiny little carribean islands etc that will gladly take the investment. It's the reason why you will also see wealthy north africans walking around with St Lucian passports. Free movement to place their money into whichever venture they wish.
Soon, it will be very difficult for Russian nationals to go anywhere outside of their own country without scrutiny, so they will just buy their way to freedom of movement. Nowadays, it's more difficult for a Bulgarian van driver to work here than it is a Russian asset. Labour just proved that by employing one in the shadow government. It's no shock to many why there are 100,000 Chinese nationals studying here. They have made a nice living out of thieving intellectual property to then use against us.

Roughly years ago, my boss at the time flew his own turboprop, we went to the netherlands via Biggin Hill airport and it was literally filled with Russians in private jets. Never seen anything like it.

You can see they're already on the spin with it. Flexing impotent muscles against putin who already has us by the you know what's with the control of oil and gas prices / supply.
Imagine it - truss and raab threatening to restrict exports of wensleydale and Lincolnshire sausages while the big bear just turns the taps off.

Too be fair Mal, he can't just turn the taps off, sales of his gas etc are what keep the Russian lights on........you will find that if there was a real war in Europe the Europeans will still be buying the gas and the Russians will still be selling it, no gas sales no money for bombs! The Europeans will be paying for their own downfall. Russia will more than likely have a big problem in the next 30 years as we start to move over to re-useable energy, unless of course they manage to sell a hell of a lot of their Vodka! Putin knows this hence why he doesn't sign up to most of the climate change policies.
