Should there be a balance point on a carp rod that indicates a good blank?
I've used some lure rods and the techies reckon the balance point should be around the front of the reel seat.
Tried on my TX2's and it's about mid point between the reel seat and the first ring.

It's really going to depend on the build spec. Im happy as long as the rod doesn't feel tip heavy in the hand.

It really doesn't matter. Carp rods don't usually get held all day like lure or waggler rods do

Simple answer is no . You will tell if its a "good blank " when in use .Factory built Carp rod blanks on the whole are ruined and dont reach the full potential due to incorrect sized guides anyhow. Differing handle configs also alter the feel of a rod.
